QUICK: As the names imply, the QUICK is a lightweight, quick to accelerate wheelset with enough depth to get aero benefits and perform exceptionally very well in very windy conditions. If you race uphill as often as you go in circles, or live in a windy, open area, the QUICK is the right pick. The rims are 25mm wide external with a 19.5mm internal width, optimized for a 23mm to 26mm tire width. All NEXT wheels are tubeless ready designs.

QUICK: As the names imply, the QUICK is a lightweight, quick to accelerate wheelset with enough depth to get aero benefits and perform exceptionally very well in very windy conditions. If you race uphill as often as you go in circles, or live in a windy, open area, the QUICK is the right pick. The rims are 25mm wide external with a 19.5mm internal width, optimized for a 23mm to 26mm tire width. All NEXT wheels are tubeless ready designs. 

NEW for 2019: We have upgraded the QUICK with Rotor RVOLVER hubs. These are super high quality European hubs with Rotor's innovative clutch freehub system that is both extremely robust and also reduces friction losses. Check out this video that shows the freehub mechanism. 

Also new for 2019 is change from 35mm to 40mm deep rear rim and the introduction of an asymmetrical cross section on the rear. This combo is a nod to the all around capability of the QUICK, as well as improving the spoke angle on the drive side of the wheel, always a challenge with modern road hubs. The front rim remains 35mm deep. 

The QUICK are built 20H front, 24H rear and laced 2-cross front and rear. The rear is laced 2:1 which means 16 drive side spokes laced 2-cross and 8 non-drive spokes also laced 2-cross. After testing both on the bench and under our pro team, we are convinced of the benefits of the two cross front spokes over radial lacing. This drastically improves cornering and overall wheel stiffness and durability as compared to radial lacing. The 2:1 lacing in the rear allows a much better tension balance and allows 16 driving spokes. The 2-cross non-drive lacing is also a significant improvement in both stiffness and durability over radial. There are no meaningful aero gains to be had with radial vs 2-cross and the benefits are very real and can be felt immediately. 

All wheels come with a high pressure rim strip installed for conventional inner tubes (or taped for tubeless at your request), NEXT titanium rod skewers, and Swiss Top Black Prince carbon specific brake pads, which should be used at all times on the NEXT carbon rims.

DT Swiss 240

Very light, DT driver with 36 point engagement, straight pull spokes, centerlock (in disc), upgraded non ceramic bearings (vs DT 350). Both front and rear hubs have an internal axle, end caps go over the axle and do not contact bearings. Muted freehub sound. Available in black only. Made in Taiwan.


 

DT Swiss 350

DT driver with 18 point engagement, straight pull spokes, centerlock (in disc). Front hub has no internal axle, bearings ride directly on through axle or end caps. Lower quality bearings than DT 240. Muted freehub sound. Available in black only. Made in Taiwan.

Industry 9 Torch

I9 MTB or road disc hub, centerlock, 120 point engagement for very fast pick up. Quite light. Good bearings, teflon wiper seal for good protection and low drag. Buzzy freehub sound. Full range of colors available. Made in USA.

Project 321

Beautiful hubs, top quality machining and finish, 6 bolt disc only, angular contact bearings with precise preload adjustment, threaded end caps, large hub flanges, angled flanges to match spoke angle, almost no spoke to hub contact, tension up like a straight pull. Magnetic pawls, 216 point freehub, no springs in freehub. Loud or silent options.  Made in Bend, OR. Comparable to Chris King quality.
